Last week I did the Open Water course together with my twelve-year-old son. Beyond the facilities and the equipment, I rate the professionalism of the instructors and the rest of the staff very highly. I particularly want to highlight the way groups were split by level and by language and kept together through the days of the course, which makes you even more comfortable. Thanks to Gaetán and Marco above all for attention that makes you feel a hundred per cent safe throughout the activity.

We were delighted with the catamaran trip to Isla de Lobos on Monday 25 May 2026. The person in charge of the trip, Greg (we think that was his name), was charming and very funny. He and his team turned the outing into a great experience, telling us the history of the island and what makes it what it is in a very entertaining way. The rest of the crew, the captain and the zodiac pilot, were also very likeable and did their job perfectly. All in all, a great day out. Highly recommended.

An unforgettable adventure. We hired the catamaran for our group of eleven — we hesitated a little beforehand, because the sum was considerably higher than for the standard trip, that is in a bigger group with strangers. But the price was 100% worth it: both the children and the adults had a wonderful time. Gregg and Pedro as crew looked after the comfort of our trip — thank you again, they did a first-rate job. This is our best memory from the trip to Fuerteventura.

Excellent dive school in the town of Corralejo, in the north of Fuerteventura. Very professional; they answered very fast when I contacted them and booking was easy without having to change my plans. The instructors treat you well, the facilities are a ten, the equipment tidy and clean, they look after every detail. On the dive, the boat captain was superb and our instructor David likewise, always watching so the dive was as comfortable and safe as possible.

In addition we went also for Peter Diving with my wife. Unfortunately my wife got very bad sea sickness. Here the true professionalism of Punta Amanay's staff came through. It's easy to look professional when everything is going well, but it's when things actually go sideways that shows the qualities of the dive center, and Punta Amanay's qualities are exceptional. If I ever visit Fuerteventura again I will definitely make some more dives with them.

An experience that is simply incredible. A moment out of time on this catamaran, between sea, sun and good humour. The crew are quite simply golden: funny, kind, attentive, always with the right word to make you smile. You feel at ease straight away, as if among friends, with a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere from beginning to end. Thank you for this magical interlude, the fits of laughter, the breathtaking landscapes and all that positive energy.

I spent two days diving with Punta Amanay. It was an absolutely great experience. All guides were professional, friendly and very helpful. All our dives brought something unique to see. The diving center has great facilities. I was quite surprised to find out that they have a private drying room, where you can leave your stuff to dry until the next dive day. They even let me use the drying room for two extra days when I was done with my dives.

Out with Victor for the fourth time today, this time fishing for wahoo. As always so far a great experience, with two fish landed inside the five hours. Value for money is top, he is extremely friendly, and he explains everything so well even to someone like me with no fishing experience at all that with his help I managed to bring two medium (to me, enormous) fish aboard. I can recommend Victor and what he offers without reservation.

Would definitely recommend. As I'm 60 years old and never dived in the sea before I was a little apprehensive I'd have to say. But these people were brilliant. Very helpful and professional. The online sign-up process was great and they were always on WhatsApp with help and advice. Our guide Marie was great — she gave everyone the level of help they needed appropriate to level of experience. And a great dive site just off Los Lobos.

Hannah and Simon are super kind and patient personalities. Simon is an excellent dive trainer and you can ask all the questions that come up. They plan the courses mostly for couples and single persons so that he can concentrate much better on every individual's progress and needs.

A catamaran cruise is a fantastic adventure. The catamaran is roomy and stable, which makes the trip comfortable and safe. The views of the sea and the coast are incredible, and the crew (Aaron, Feli, Alejandro and Annika) are very professional and friendly. Add good food and a free bachata lesson. The whole outing is a perfect chance to have fun or simply enjoy the calm on the water. I recommend it to everyone.

During the course days, the wind got stronger and stronger and I recognized that I don't have the skills to manage this kind of wind. The school was pretty flexible and they offered me to participate in the course.

Great place. We did a family Open Water Diver course with Marco. He was an excellent and patient instructor; the other dive staff and boat crews were always very friendly and helpful. Did a dive after qualifying and our guide Nimes went out of his way to find amazing sealife to watch while all the time keeping a careful eye on us novices. Everything was very well organised and professionally managed.

Had a really great time. We booked the shared tour. Great snorkeling experience, nice food, great people with us on the boat and the guides were funny and shared some interesting insights on the island of Lobos and Fuerteventura. Totally worth the price and easy and uncomplicated booking and communication prior to the tour. There are many catamaran tours but we recommend you take it with these guys.

I had a fantastic catamaran cruise on the Atlantic today. The crew — Luis, Alex, Franco and Juan — were simply brilliant. They looked after the whole group beautifully, made sure the atmosphere was wonderful and got an unforgettable party going. We also managed to see dolphins — from a distance, admittedly, but it was still an amazing experience. Thank you for a lovely day, I warmly recommend it.

I recommend it. The boat is very clean and in good order, ideal for a trip with the whole family. The whole team is very nice and helpful. The boss speaks English and the man on the pontoon also speaks German. The hire price is fair and the final settlement was faultless. On Fuerteventura this is the only place of its kind where you can hire a boat without a skipper and go out on your own trip.

Driving a motorboat without a licence? Here, with Victor, no problem. Getting in touch was extremely easy and quick. Victor is a great person, relaxed and funny. After a short safety briefing we were straight out on the water. It was genuinely beautiful and a great experience. We had a shared fishing trip for 5 people with Pichon, it was fantastic. The boat is very well kept. The fishing was great, we all had fish, including yellowfin tuna, Atlantic tuna, red snapper and barracuda. Pichon is a passionate Spanish fisherman who is fast and direct with his instructions. The sandwich was great too! We would recommend and plan to fish with him again soon.

Hannah was an absolute dream to spend time with — she made us feel very calm, safe and prepared! And tons of laughs! Simon and Hannah were both super on top of communication and booking as well. I had a fantastic experience completing a 12-hour kitesurfing course. I had taken a short kitesurfing course about 10 years ago, but remembered very little, so I was essentially starting again as a beginner. One of the biggest advantages here is the lagoon. Learning in shallow, flat water feels much safer and more comfortable than starting directly in the open sea with waves.

It was just great! Professional divers that truly care about the sea and about educating their clients. I did the PADI Open Water certification and JB, my teacher, adapted the exercises to my progress every time. He made me feel safe during all five dives, he showed me so much — stingrays, starfish, angel sharks, sea horses — and he was always there to answer my questions.

My husband and I had two great dives with Hannah at El Jablito in April. Cold waters of 18 degrees, but we were provided with all of the necessary equipment to keep nice and warm during our dives. It was fantastic to be in such a small group — just the three of us — and we enjoyed refreshing our skills underwater. Great visibility and saw lots of new fish too!

The catamaran trip to the island of Lobos was a really beautiful experience. The extremely friendly crew did everything to make it an unforgettable day. We were told about the volcano on Lobos, had plenty of time and freedom to swim and kayak, ate a tasty paella and had the special experience of a seagull feeding out of our hands. It was all there that day.

Such an amazing experience here! Marie, David and Arnaud were such great instructors! Very friendly, confident and calming. My partner was very nervous going into it, but they did such a great job to make her feel safe and confident for the dive! The dive itself was amazing, such a great diving spot around Isla de Lobos, we saw some incredible marine life!

Even as independent kiters, we always felt supported by the Matas Bay Kite team. With the predominantly offshore wind in Fuerteventura, having such a professional and reliable rescue service makes a huge difference and gives real peace of mind. The instructors are outstanding: very experienced, attentive, and always present both on land and in the water.

An exceptional big-game fishing trip. A huge thank you to the whole team, who were superb from start to finish. As well as being very friendly and welcoming, they are extremely professional and experienced. Thanks to their advice and their know-how we were lucky enough to land a magnificent marlin. Amazing experience. I would highly recommend it. We went as family of four on 12 persons catamaran. Cold drinks and lunch is included. Lunch was lovely we had steak with mushroom sauce and potatoes, for starter we had couscous. We were lucky enough to see dolphins but it's not guaranteed. A spectacular four-hour trip out of the port of Morro Jable. We were on this new catamaran, anchoring off the south coast of the island; on board we relaxed in the sun, swam in crystal-clear water, saw dolphins close up, drank good wine, had lunch and spent a lovely day with a very warm and friendly crew. Truly a beautiful day.

A dream come true! Dolphins swimming right next to the boat! It was only two hours but I enjoyed it from the first minute to the last. Nino and Alejo are wonderful guides — they gave a lot of information and found the dolphins quickly. I can definitely recommend this trip. Drinks included and the chance to swim afterwards.

I had a 10/10 experience learning to kite surf at Matas Bay! I am so grateful for the entire team who show up day after day with big smiles, great attitudes and so much support for beginners like myself! A special shoutout to Andriu who spent many hours helping me learn the theoretical and practical aspects of this sport!

The trip from start to finish was excellent. The crew are so friendly and make everything enjoyable. They have the schedule done really well by splitting into 2 groups, so 1 group stays on the boat and does the water activities while the others go to Lobos and then switch. I loved the day and would recommend to others.

Yesterday my son and I booked a private deep-sea fishing trip. It was a great experience with a very successful catch. The trip was run very professionally and our captain Victor guided us expertly. I would like to thank Victor once more for a lovely morning. I can strongly recommend this company to anyone interested.

Brilliant. First of all, Víctor is extremely likeable, he adapted to us the whole time and his company was genuinely enjoyable. He let us fish, we saw dolphins, we snorkelled somewhere with crystal-clear water and then had a short run with a snack. Very, very good — the trip exceeded my expectations. 100% recommended.

A great center in a beautiful location! It was my first time kitesurfing, and I took the beginner's course for four days. With Mike as my patient and humorous instructor, I learned quickly and made progress. And I had a lot of fun! The safety service with the jet skis worked well and the team was very attentive.

Good organisation, with people split into groups down in the port. The swimming spot by the island of Lobos is very pleasant, with great visibility for diving down. The food on board was delicious, and the alcoholic and soft drinks were fine too. A nice two-person crew on board who tell you interesting things.

Absolutely recommended. A fabulous experience in every sense. We went from Corralejo to Isla de Lobos and it could not have been more beautiful. Jorge, the guide, is very friendly and knows every corner of the island. An absolute pleasure. If you come to Fuerteventura and fancy a different adventure, do it.

I highly recommend this spot! The welcome was excellent, the location is perfect for beginners, and the instructor was very friendly, knowledgeable, and equipped with a radio for effective coaching. We booked lessons for two people and each had our own instructor, which made the experience even better.

Thank you for your kindness and your warm welcome. The boat is roomy and you are put ashore for an hour on Lobos to visit the little village.

Everything absolutely fine. A Polish-speaking desk down in the port — you can ask what is worth seeing and how long the trip takes. A very pleasant lady will give you the information. The water taxi was punctual and the crossing goes by in a great atmosphere with good music. I really do recommend it.

17 days of wind in a row, could you believe it? Rene Egli is the best place to learn to windsurf well. The crew are so professional and friendly and helpful and funny. The jetskis on site is so handy, make me feel safe because you know, when you are learning, you just drifting away without wanting...

We had a fantastic day on the sea and around Los Lobos island. Jorge is a super experienced kayak guide and trainer. We had a really good time together kayaking on the sea, along the Los Lobos coastline, visiting small cosy bays, and did some nice snorkelling on the east coast with very clear water.

My experience with Flag Beach is incredible. They are a benchmark for windsurfing and watersports in Fuerteventura. I took four "improver and renewal" windsurf lessons with them and the experience was perfect. The instructors look after their students throughout and give practical, effective advice.

A pleasant little two-hour trip out of Morro Jable with Nino and Alejo. It works in every language — German, English, Spanish and French. The dolphins turned up and were majestic. At the swimming spot the water is a magnificent colour. A really lovely outing. I would do it again without hesitation.

I booked a four-day beginner kitesurfing course and I am entirely happy with it. Every instructor gives their best to move your learning on. They have an answer to every question, spot your weak points and adapt to you, and I learned a great deal because of it. I simply felt in very good hands.

Genuinely good professionals. We had a very entertaining day's fishing, catching several different species. From skipper Alfredo, a very warm manner that makes you feel as if you had known each other for years, and Pichón very ready to advise you. A good boat, no doubt about it. Many thanks.

We took a kitesurfing course and were happy all round. Walid and Samuel looked after us brilliantly, explained everything clearly and took plenty of time. The atmosphere was relaxed, professional and motivating. Thanks to their support we made big progress and had a lot of fun on the water.

We did our first 2 hours lesson on windsurfing here at Matas Bay. First we did some practice close to the shore and afterwards we took the jetski to get more into the ocean for some more/stronger wind! We had such a good time and it was so much fun, thanks a lot! We can highly recommend.

I spent more than half a year on the island learning to windfoil with them. I had never done any sport of this kind and the experience has been incredible. It took me very little time to be able to enjoy it on my own without trouble, and I always felt at home and was treated wonderfully.

Great small boat, 2 crew, maximum 6 guests. Sail out to Lobos for an hour of bait fishing. Sandwich and a drink whilst we sail to the big fishing stop. About 3 hours fishing there. 8am to 1pm trip. All equipment included. They really help you to try to catch fish. Really fun experience.

A good atmosphere and ideal for enjoying your sport. Whether you are taking your first steps, have done a course already and want to improve, or are a windsurfing pro, this is your place. Good instructors in whichever language you need, patient and able to adapt to the student's level.

The place is paradise — you have it to yourself and enjoy it enormously. The team adapt completely to your level and they have jet skis to stay with you while you are learning, which gives a lot of confidence if you are the nervous type. They are extremely friendly and flexible.

Fabulous trip with Vesko. The kayaking was fun and just the right amount of challenge with the fairly choppy sea. Vesko ensured our safety throughout with clear instructions and plenty of help for oldies like me to get back into the kayak from the water after snorkelling.

I spent two days in March in the Advanced Pool with rented equipment at the René Egli kitesurfing centre and I am completely won over. I felt looked after the whole time — the moment you need help in the water or lose the board, somebody is there on the jet ski.

I recommend getting in touch with Jorge for kayaking. We did the route to Isla de Lobos, and he is not only a great professional — it is the first time I have been taught how to handle a kayak the way professionals do, after several previous outings elsewhere.

Experts, and no shortage of very recent equipment. Efficient organisation. A nice corner in the shade of the palms to enjoy the sun out of the wind. One remark: since the move to the foot of the ZEL hotel you have to carry your kit 100 m — but the wind helps.

This was my second year in a row at the Matas Bay surf centre and once again I am completely won over. The choice of equipment is great, whether you want to push hard or freeride in a relaxed way. The instructors are all extremely friendly and very helpful.

If you want to paddle a proper sea kayak tour, this is the place — not a sit-on-top, but a sea kayak with a spraydeck. Jorge provides high-quality equipment and guides professionally. A briefing on paddling technique and safety is of course part of it.

I spent 10 days near Matas Blancas Bay, and it became my main spot during the stay. From my experience, it had the best wind conditions on the island. I learned that when it blows, it is usually strongest there, which made it a reliable place to ride.

We were a group of eight and had an excellent afternoon. Greg and Pascual looked after us beautifully. Good spirits, music, paella, photos for us — and even a sperm whale put on a fine show for us. A thousand thanks, it was one of our loveliest days.

Extremely friendly people, great windsurfing equipment. I rented a Starboard Isonic with a Severne Moto sail, everything in excellent condition. Depending on the wind it was even possible to change for smaller material during the rental period.

The tour was great! The technique was explained in a lot of detail (I had no idea you could do so much wrong while paddling) and it was enormous fun going over to Lobos. Once there we could snorkel and got a short guided walk on the island.

Such an amazing experience! Worth a thousand stars! Vesko is such a joy to be around and makes you feel at ease. I don't know how to swim but I had no problem being in the water, as you are provided with life jackets. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful sea kayaking adventure! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, Jorge will prepare a day suited to you and you'll learn much not just about paddling and surfing but also about the nature and history of the islands.

You are in the best hands here for learning to handle wind and waves. I only had a few days of kayaking experience. Jorge managed to bring the different experience levels in our group together and lead everyone safely through rough sea.

We bought tickets for the water taxi to Lobos. I bought them online. After the purchase one of the staff contacted us on WhatsApp and sent the exact spot where we had to be and how far in advance. Everything went without a hitch.

I came with my two children (9 and 10). Our guide Vesko was terrific and it was a great experience for us. It is also worth looking at the photos and videos afterwards — they cost 20 € extra, but they are a lovely memento.

The kite course worked out very well for me. In summer you should think about booking in advance — quite a few people do turn up on the day. And if the instructors say there is too much or too little wind, trust them.

The shared fishing trip was great — bottom fishing that kept you busy and two wahoo. The skipper worked the best drop-offs and whatever you needed the deckhand was right there, giving it everything. I recommend it.

A unique experience. The explanation was excellent, they take you to a beautiful spot and the guide is the best in the world — Jibi, an incredible guy, you will laugh with him for sure. Highly recommended!

I went out fishing with Tini on two days and enjoyed it a lot. We had some good catches and spent good mornings out. A special mention for the surprise of the Canarian jack. Thank you, Tini and Cris.

I did three sessions of three hours. Starting from nothing, I learned to windsurf decently. Excellent instructors, location and equipment. Fair prices. And there is a friendly dog you can stroke.

Top-class crew and boats. We left with only a minimal delay caused by guests who were late. Despite windy weather and a fair swell the catamaran was very stable. Four small notes about the Select: 1) we never got the feeling that anyone was actually looking for dolphins or whales — on Tenerife a very similar trip had the boats talking to each other over the radio; 2) it would have been huge fun for the passengers to raise at least a reefed mainsail and go without the engine; 3) the stop for swimming and eating was practically at the departure point itself, and it was far too long, so after 2 h 50 min of the four hours the trip already felt over; after the meal we only had 15 minutes along Morro Jable and then the harbour entrance; 4) standing there with a tip box as you leave the boat is too much — that option should be visible somewhere throughout the trip so that anyone who wants to can make a donation.

We really enjoyed the four-hour tour with Elton and Martin. We liked the trip we had booked very much. Going close in to Isla de Lobos together with the snorkelling was great fun. The one thing to improve would be the quantity and variety of the food. For what we paid we expected more of it, and what was served was more of a starter — a couple of potatoes with home-made mojo, potato tortilla and a bit of salad (although it was all very good). The guides were approachable and helpful throughout. Overall a very good experience.

An excellent catamaran experience out to the island of Los Lobos with a maximum of ten people. Four hours in total, lunch included (a mixed plate, fruit and sangria), snorkelling masks and SUP boards. Hotel pick-up and drop-off included. On price per person it is perhaps the best value, bearing in mind that the catamaran is a little smaller and less modern than the competition. Crew top marks.

The place is spectacular and the instructors know their stuff and are friendly. I am not giving five stars for three small reasons: during the World Cup the stretch of coast available is minimal, there is hardly a 145 board to be had, and the beach is some 250 metres from the equipment, so carrying it back and forth is exhausting.

We did a 3 day kite surfing course. Lorenzo and Theo were our instructors and were really good at explaining and making us feel comfortable! What could be improved: personally, I felt like the boat experience was a bit chaotic, not 1 instructor for 2 people, a lot of back and forth between other kiters and students.

Big rigid-hull boat, with drinks and snacks after the dives. The briefing was good and so was the guiding underwater. The only thing was that the number of divers sometimes made it a bit hectic.

It was fairly quiet when we visited. More of a place for people looking for watersports activities.

We booked a dive and the guides were all very friendly, helpful and seemed competent. The dive site itself, with its rock formations and narrow passages, was genuinely exciting. What we liked less was the group size: one guide for five divers was too many in our view. In the narrow spots you often had fins in your face or were jostled by the person behind, which the guide could hardly keep an eye on. Next time we would ask about the group size in advance.

The wind is usually offshore. You need a decent level to sail here. The facilities are fine and they have set up areas for rigging and packing down the kites. For learning, a wind parallel to the coast or blowing towards it is preferable.

This feedback is meant as a suggestion, not a complaint. The station is still solid, but compared with earlier years it has, for me, lost a lot of its former top level. Beforehand I had asked about a combined wing/windsurf offer.

We looked and looked for dolphins and never found any. Money down the drain, a shame.

On the spot: flat water for every kind of watersport. With no waves to speak of (20 cm) it is ideal for beginners and improvers. The beach is small and stony, and walking to the water barefoot is so-so. On the station: the quality and choice of equipment is very limited.

We booked the "Pesca de Fondo en Caleta de Fuste" fishing tour for 2 adults and 2 children, and unfortunately it turned into a very traumatic and extremely unpleasant experience for our whole family. This tour is absolutely not suitable for children or for beginners who have never experienced deep-sea fishing before. During the trip, my husband, my older son, and I suffered from severe seasickness and spent around 3 out of the 4 hours vomiting continuously. The worst part is that the captain told us there was no seasickness medication available on board. When we booked the tour, nobody warned us about the high risk of seasickness or advised us to bring tablets ourselves. Additionally, during the fishing itself, the captain did not explain how to properly use the fishing rods or how to fish.

This place was the worst experience and very expensive for the 10 minutes I got on the jet ski, and I wasn't allowed to go anywhere near my friend on his jet ski. It was pointless hiring our own jet skis; the staff were very rude and the jet skis were also very slow, and I was meant to have 20 minutes.

If you do not know or do not want to speak English, do not even go near this centre. There are far better ones both in Corralejo and in Caleta de Fuste. I will not be back here.
